So we are delighted that Squadron Leader Catriona Thompson, a VC10 navigator at RAF Brize Norton, agreed to share her experiences of the role of aircrew in the modern RAF.
Cat has not only carved out a career flying in the RAF, but is also involved in managing over 400 people.

£200 was collected at this meeting for the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.
Cat's talk covered
• The Queen of the Skies: The VC10 as it approaches its 50th birthday
• Operation ELLAMY: An airborne account of the tanker force and the liberation of Libya.
Squadron Leader Catriona Thompson
On completion of training, she joined the VC10 fleet shortly before Gulf War Two and has since undertaken Air Transport and Air to Air Refuelling operations around the globe, including Iraq, Afghanistan, the Falkland Islands and Libya.
She is now a Flight Commander on 101 Squadron, still navigating and helping to manage a Squadron of nearly 400 personnel.
