Paul Skilleter was born on the Isle of Wight in 1945 and studied photography and cinematography.
In 1966 he joined Motor magazine, in 1974 transferred to Thoroughbred & Classic Cars and went freelance in 1977.
In the 1980s Paul worked to launch The Automobile, Jaguar World Monthly, and Practical
Classics which became Britain's best-selling classic car magazine.
Paul's first book Jaguar Sports Cars was published in 1975 winning the Montagu Trophy for the year's
best-researched motoring book. Other book titles (written, co-authored or published) include Jaguar
Saloons; Collector's Guides on XKs and E-types; history of the Morris Minor; the official biography
of Sir William Lyons; the story of the famouse Scottish racing team, Ecurie Ecosse; and Norman Dewis
of Jaguar - Developing The Legend, for which he again won the Montagu Award!
Paul writes every month in Jaguar World Monthly and his latest offering is Cat Out of the Bag, which is
about Jaguar's competition department in the 1960s. He is planning a series of pictorial Jaguar
